About the DVISD Safety and Security Department
As the district’s safety and security team, we will support and mentor students by using Restorative Justice practices, comfortable approachability, and social-emotional learning, to build positive relationships where students and staff feel safe on every campus.
The Del Valle ISD Safety and Security Department consists of the following personnel: Chief David Lopez, Lieutenant Reyes Hernandez, Sergeant Nita Smith, and Officers Darrell Ray, Francisco Saucedo, Michael Sawyer, Roland Villarreal, and Dereck Williams. The department aligns with district policies and procedures while providing the highest level of safety at all campuses.
